Filtration plates for pharmaceutical and high-purity applications. Depth filter plates are used for solid-liquid separation. They represent an established and recognized technology in the field of microfiltration.

Filter plates are mainly composed of finely fibrillated cellulose, forming a three-dimensional sieve through which the liquid flows. Depending on the plate grade, mineral additives (kieselguhrs or perlites) are incorporated into the cellulose matrix to obtain the desired retention characteristics.
characteristics.
A thermosetting resin is used as a wet strength agent. This resin imparts an electrokinetic potential, also known as zeta potential, to the plate, enabling negatively-charged particles or micro-organisms whose size may be smaller than that of the filter media’s pores to be retained by adsorption.
The different grades of filter plates in the PURAFIX® range cover retention thresholds from roughing to sterilizing filtration. They are available in all standard sizes, square (200×200 to 1200×1200 mm) or round, with or without holes.
PURAFIX® filter plates have been specially developed for use in critical applications such as pharmaceutical manufacturing. They are characterized by their very low ion and pyrogen content.
